THE OPENING CEREMONY OF SPECIAL OLYMPICS : CELEBRATING THE SPECTACULATOR SPECTATORS

I pledge to look for the lonely, the isolated, the left out, the challenged and the bullied, i pledge to overcome the fear of difference and replace it with power of inclusion, i choose to include ~ INCLUSION PLEDGE

Wow!! what a pledge!!special olympics refers to the empowerment of intellectual disabilities, the pledge perfectly adds up the the relevant meanings to set the benchmarks for tomorrow's!!

My first international stadium experience! rather, i would say an eye opener cum inspirational, and unforgettable experience. I was super excited when my husband came up with the tickets, i was like yayyy!! (Being the wife of a diehard football fan, hahahah!)

And we reached the stadium, i was gazing around like anything(lol..) "the stadium was huge and the crowd was infinite, assembled in each gates". We were in gate c of the entrance.

And we entered somehow, after a thorough check in process. There were vehicle snacks everywhere inside for the refreshments.

All of the sudden a aerodynamic noise....uff!! boeing 777 etihad is this close to my head with the colors of uae national flag.

This is meant to be 'AIR OF OPTIMISM AND DETERMINATION' as the athletes made the way to the stadium through the lanes of abu dhabi.

Newbie To The International Stadium:

While stepping towards the stadium i was overloaded with mixture of emotions. The heartbeat got fast and rushing to climb up through the stairs was a biggest struggle. Anyhow, doesn't matter.....but the view.. wow...wow!! what...!the ground, the gallery, the people, the claps, the echoss...uffffff....ufffff!! 'the moment ever memorable'.

and we have seated in seat no 23 & 24. Noticed that a wrist watch was kept in each chair ,and i was in hurry to light it up but failed each time and atlast i opened up the battery and thus it on ed and it is blinking with red light and i was showing to him, he was giggling at me and busy shooting my mischievous and childishness...(ahem..ahem..!!)

finally i understood why he was laughing .....you know what guys the wrist watch is a remote controlled based which is on ed automatically during 'TORCH PARADE' (i was like noooo......!, lol)

The show started with a spectacular style with the bold decision of inclusion and acceptance all over in zayed sports city stadium. The game was opened by his highness sheikh mohammed bin zayed al nahyan and followed by the unified choir the 'WOVEN WORLD' .

Then started the cultural event with the pop dancer and singer crew, THE GLOBAL POP. The crew is unified with 14 dancers and singers from all over the world. The performance was mesmerizing one celebrating the strength of diversity yet together for a noble cause.

After witnessed the poweract dj by DJ BLISS ."The loud sounds from the speaker, the screaming and whistling of the audience took the stadium to another level....BOOM!!!"

The March Parade:

The athletes marched into the stadium according to the countries basis arousing the goosebumps of 40,000 fans in the stadium. It was UAE , to gather the world in one stadium and picked a better event to set an example of inclusion, openness,and togetherness.

There were 7,500 athletes from 190 countries participating in olympics. It was a blend of diverse nations with common aim tell the world that 'we are determined, we can do anything'.

Followed by the unified speeches which tells about the unity of the local members to make this special olympics possible. The sporting icons then hoisted the olympic flag.

Flame of hope:

Flame of hope arrived from different emirates and lit in the platform, was pleasing moment to watch. It was uniquely executed and also the torch parade just added up the flow.

The firework:

That was a lit!!The performance by Avril lavigne, Luis fonsi, Tamer hosni, Hussain al jassmi followed by the firework was a heartfelt one, and makes the eve so special and the most memorable one.

THE SPECTACULAR SPECTATORS

The super heros are those who inspires us with their abilities for example...the actors! but now i would say that "the real superheros are these spectators whose determination being a intellectually disabled ....without surrendering to it and achieving the world, which we people cannot even think."

The world is changing, hence the people in the world changes accordingly. The special olympics is the best example in front of us as the proof . Because earlier i have seen the society, the people, whose mindset towards the intellectually disabled peoples is entirely different.

My cousin who is 8 now was suffered from this alot. The people,the society, the members of family were the keen observer so as they were embarrassed and to escape from it they never faced them again. hence they have to be in their rooms not to show in audience.....(sad!! but true!!) But my aunty never lose the hope and travelled place to place to seek the meditation. Nothing worked!! i would say the parents of these kids are the actual warriors ....!! SALUTE AND RESPECT!!

This entire blog is dedicated to u aunty and uncle to tell you that "not to worry, the inclusion and unity being prime motto, the world is changing and one day you people will be proud of her...in sha allah! the example is in front of u ~THE SPECIAL OLYMPICS!"
